Today I come to find that 1 of my eggs under my broody hen has broken and the other eggs has crusted egg on them all. There were also two eggs that were like that but were not under her and it was a cold day. I decided to wash all the eggs off with relatively warm water but still had some left because it was so crusted. I then put more shaving down over top of it all and put them back under her. I’m thinking of restarting because I’m not sure if it will work and they will all die cause of the bacteria. Because I had them out though I decided to candle them and saw no development so far really, it is only day 2 so I don’t know if I should be worried or not. Should I restart or what should I do?! Thanks

Give it another week and then candel it again. If no growth then start over.

Ok, do you think there will be a problem with bacteria?

Will it matter if I washed them or not? People say that that isn’t good but I had rly no choice, egg was crusted on them and then when I took them out she pooped all over 2
