I have a light sussex pullet who laid her first egg on 1/22/12 and laid two consecutive days following but since then nothing. I've since seen her in the nest box twice (as recently as today) but no eggs. She appears to be acting normal and eating and drinking. Is this normal "pullet"...
Change of story because I just collected after work and there was a solid brown egg laid today so I think this speckled egg is the splash marans pullet's FIRST egg :) I've got 4 marans pullets and until today, only one had been laying.
Its been 8 hours since I delivered THE cutest Ameraucana cockerel to his new home. I sure miss that lil cutie.....and will think twice about purchasing straight run chicks again. I am able to check up on him at his new home whenever I want tho.
I was thinking of covering the gaps between boards with feed bags too, but then someone gave me the idea of using Gorilla Glue brand Duct Tape! So far its working very well!
