how to get baby chicks follow

I made sure to hold my chicks a lot and interact with them...especially when they got pasty butt :P Now, as 1 year olds, they usually come when called. They also don't mind being held as much as they might've if I hadn't held them as chicks. And yes, food is very effective as well. Happy chick...

    Laws In Tigard, OR

So, here's the deal: I was poking around on the forum and one guy/gal said that in Portland (OR) you can get a permit for $31 to have more than 3 chickens. I was just wondering if the laws are different in Tigard and how much a permit is if not. Also, is there a permit that allows roosters?

Hen Doesn't Like To Sleep in Coop

Thanks everyone! After a winter of mostly staying in the run, I started to let them run around the yard again and haven't had anymore problems with it. We also put a barrier of chicken wire on the top of the fence in case the problem starts again, but I doubt it! Thanks to everyone who helped!

Are My Chickens Pecking At One Another?

One of my chickens are in the middle of molting. Her neck and head are starting to get the rest of the feathers back, but recently I noticed her shoulder is bald. I also just saw the chickens "pecking" at each other slightly but I don't know if it was playful (or just normal chicken behavior) or...

    Pain or just telling everyone`

Mine do this too. I think its called an egg song. I wouldn't worry about it. I think it's just what they do before and/or after they lay an egg.
