I’m 6’2 and put the poop boards waste levelish for me. Then lifted the roost high enough for me to comfortably work a scoop to clean out the PDZ. I have no clue how high they really are. We did build a ramp. I can measure later and let you know.
Well the remaining flock, two hens and a mean mean mean silkie Roo moved in tonight. A few things left to do but totally livable. We set them in the run and checked in on them before bed and the hens were nested in the run. So much for the chicken tree, ramps and roosting bars with poop boards...
And just to give you an idea. We used the 6’ 3”x2” welded wire available at Lowe’s, comes in a 50’ roll. Our run is 36’x12’x7’ and we used 3 rolls of the stuff. Had four on hand but never opened the fourth. We set the post 6’ apart and cut panels vertically. Worked out well. It will ALWAYS cost...

Feeders and supplements all mounted one on one side for the chickens and one for the ducks. (I’m...
Our Silkie rooster will attack the living tar out of you if you get near one of the girls.
They tend to be like people all have their own disposition and personality
Well getting down to detail work finally. Took a break from the boring stuff to do a little fun project in the run, our chicken tree for daytime enrichment. I’ll get some better pics later but here she is for now.

Some of the wood was kiln dried after treatment some of it wasn't, So well just have to play the waiting game and see on the majority of it. But yeah can take just as long in the south sometimes longer based off the humidity. And curb appeal on this on is everything because it can readily be...
Thanks. Hopefully by the end of the week we can get all the trim work done, install the duck pool, complete the chicken tree, roost bars, and poop boards. Then waiting on the wood to dry to paint the whole thing. Not looking forward to the painting one bit.
