I haven't checked the link yet, but how often do they have them in that area? Also, I know a lady down here that has silkies, I bought 3 of them about a month ago. What colors/age are you looking for?
Didn't know they did that up there. Nice. Also wanted to let y'all know, if you're up for coming to the beach, we have a swap set for 10/15. We have one every month in Robertsdale.
We had a 2-yo Buff Orp with this issue. She seemed to be healthy in all other regards. Have you tried isolating her for a couple days to see if she is the one laying chalky? I would suspect she is. Have you consulted your local vet? I'd be interested to hear what they had to say.
Good Luck!
I don't currently have any that I'm thinking are roo's, though have seen some of this same activity. It seems as though it is an early stage of deciding who's dominant. The main time I see this is when they are trying to eat from the same area of the feeder.

Usually you can tell by their crown...pullets are generally more rounded on top of their head than roos; though at 2-months they do resemble each other a lot.
I think usually it's still a toss up until you hear it kind of crow or lay an...
Where are you located? I'm needing to replace my whole flock; just not sure when. I woke up yesterday morning to find the neighbor dog jumped our fence and broke into our coops. I only have 1 of my girls left of 16 (and nursing her back to health). Not sure yet if I will get more babies now or...
No; just started my first flock earlier this year. Bought some Silkies to add a few to my flock and not interested in keeping all of them. Will raise them if I can't find a home for them. Maybe ready to process by this time next year.
Update: I didn't get any replies last night and thought I might loose her. To answer some of your questions: I have 24 total that are right at a week old. Of the 3 I cleaned, 1 of the silkies is the only one that was stumbling around, falling over backward, and just looking disoriented. Tried to...
