I will never understand why when people post that they couldn't kill an animal on their property, people who don't think twice about it come out of the woodwork to chastise them.
We have relocated Raccons - once a mother with 4 babies. They didn't return. I could never kill an animal for being an animal.
It's my job to build the chicken coop as secure as possible for my girls.
I have 3 chickens. We raised them from day olds. The first month we had them we handled them all the time and they were very tame and would sleep in our laps in front of tv etc. At 2 months old they went outside. Then they got a little wild, a little standoffish.
But always came running for...
I have no experience in this area, but my comment would be, if you do not want your children to get attached, then I would get 30 not 3. If there are only 3 their separate personalities would stand out and they will likely get named.
Zazouse - your pics are great! The one of the dog all covered in dirt from the chicken taking a dust bath made me laugh loudly.
thanks for the morning smile!
I am loving all the photos on this thread!
I am the lady with the pugs that posted a picture. None of our dogs were pups when we got the chickens.
and the two rescue dogs are 13 years old and we have only had them 3 months. We were just very lucky to have dogs
with good temperments.
when...
We have 5 dogs...three ours 2 we are fostering for the Humane Society, all pug mixes
and amazingly, they are all great with the chickens. It is hilarious.
