I knew it!!!!!
I feel so terrible now for letting him do it but I think I was in SHOCK!
*ugh*
Thanks everyone and yes, my chickens are used to being held. Just not like that. The owrst part was that it scared my kids.
Our chickens are life family and when we hold them, we're always gentle and I just pick them up with 2 hands and they're fine.
My mother and her bf came by this weekend and he insisted the "proper" way to hold any chicken was upside down by the legs.:|
He did it to one of my chickens and it...
Actually, all of my chickens are supposed to be pure bred. I got them all from MMH about 5 months ago. When I got them I ordered the "Assorted Purebred Bantams."
I received probably 90% of cochins. They're all nice though, I love them but sheesh.
Thank you all. I have no clue what breed she is! LOL I ordered a Bantam mix from MMH. She was especially cute when she first got here. She stood out from the rest, was just a little fluffball!
I guess I'll have to wait and see if she lays an egg!

Thanks. She is my sons favorite. She has a sweet attitude and she seems a little "chicken." Like, when I walk into the coop she runs off and the 2 roos we have don't. Usually.
But she has that red comb and is SO much bigger than the rest I was beginning to question.
This chicken doesn't "act" like a roo but is obviously bigger than the rest of my chickens but in a fat, chunky hen way. LOL. Please tell me she is a she. She is about 2 months old.
I have 10 bantam chickens, 2 of which are roosters and they are about 6-7 weeks old now. They have always lived together and all of a sudden one of the roos (silver sebright) is acting like a total maniac to one of the hens. He pecks her, chases her, flies toward her and this evening I found her...
They are bantam. Should I put their light up high where they would sleep/roost or down lower? well phooey! LOL I don't think I got a rare breed then.
Oh well, I still love them all anyway. Is there a way to tell if someone is "rare?"
Ok, after finding out the chick I thought was the rare breed wasn't, I'm thinking maybe this guy is. Anyone know the breed? And I'm thinking he's a he. If this chick isn't the rare breed I'm at a loss. I thought I had all the others figured out. All of the chicks are 4 weeks old today. I am in...

Sorry, I should of been more clear. All I mean is not Show Quality. Should make a perfect pet or feathered family member(I have alot of those).
A chick from Show breeders would have alot more feathering on its feet and legs and be feathered all the way to the end of its middle toe...
Thanks everyone. She is really docile and and has the prettiest feathers. I just love her to death. When I ordered my chicks I was apparently supposed to get a rare breed chick but for the life of me I can't figure which one is the "rare"
I was thinking she was. Ooops.
Maybe I am mistaking...
