What does this Milkshake look like to you?

We are supposed to pick up Milkshake on Monday. All the owner knows is that they bought Milkshake from TSC about 3 years ago. They dont know breed or gender. Milkshake will be a pet, but may also be used for "meat rabbit" breeding, we arent sure yet. So, is Milkshake a buck or a doe? And...

    DP roos

The meaties will be processed way before the extra roos. They are almost 3 weeks, and the assortment came today. I am thinking maybe a 12 x 8 tractor. Would that work for 15-20 cockerels until about 16-18 weeks?

    DP roos

We are trying out a few different options for meat birds this year. We've got a few CXs and we are getting a "heavy assortment" that we plan to raise the roos for meat. I want to make the dual purpose heavies a tractor to keep on the area we plan to turn into another garden next year, so they...

    Mystery chick from TSC?

DS picked this chick up from TSC. I just glanced at the sign because I told him he could pick out whatever chick he wanted. It said (i thought) Breed of the Week- Dark Brahma, but once I looked at the chick, it doesnt have feathered feet/shanks. So, what is this chick? Some of the other...

Hatching different eggs in same 'bator?

I have some chicken, turkey, and guinea eggs I want to hatch. Problem is I only have one incubator. I was looking online and it seems that the guinea and turkey eggs have the same requirements. Chickens only need less time, but same temp/humidity. So, question is.....Can I put them all in...

Can chickens and pigs share a space?

We have 3 hens, a roo, and a 5 mo old pot bellied pig in the pen together. So far, so good. Our coop is two storied, so the chickies go on top, and Sookie (our piggy) stays on the bottom. Lydia

    What breed is my Roo?

Ok, no poofiness on his head. 10 more days until (hopefully) his little ones hatch and I can see what comes of them. Lydia

    Just set my FIRST eggs!

Quote: OMG! That would be horrible. Yes, I'm one of those emotional *Cancer* chicks, but even though it was kinda yucky, I still wanted to cry for the poor thing! I kept trying to remind myself that I knew it would happen, but its still sad. Lydia

    Just set my FIRST eggs!

Candled again late last night. Out of the 4 questionable eggs, 3 had movement, and 1 had a blood ring. I had DH open it. Kinda gross, but learning experience, I guess. It had started forming, but stopped soon. Lydia

    Just set my FIRST eggs!

So, I candled last night. Out of the 10 eggs I set, 6 I saw definite movement and 4 were questionable. I didn't toss any, just marked with a ? to check again later. There was no smell or anything, so I still have so hope. Lydia

    What breed is my Roo?

Could he be a Partridge Rock? That is the closest I seemed to find through all my googling. LOL Lydia

    What breed is my Roo?

Thanks. I think so, too. I just love his colors! I've got some Xs from him in the incubator now. They are from him and our RIR and Barred Rock ladies. Lydia
