Ok, I broke down and bought some of these...
I am going to have the supply tank outside the coop and the nipples inside the coop for 24 hour access.
My question is have you had leaks and if you did was there a fix?
I don't want a wet coop floor and if this is an issue I will put the...
Chickens in the rafters... Deer netting or plastic poultry netting?
The hens are about 8 weeks old now and I went out lastnight to lock them up... LOL and i didn't see any hens around.. OMG!
They were all up in the rafters.. They didn't make a sound so it took a while to find them...
Anyway...

All the coon was able to do is nip off about half of the middle toe..

They have been laying about 7 - 10 days now..
Very frustrating.. but I did put golf balls in my nests trying to encourage laying..
The RIR have the bright red comb and look so ready... Just me luck.
I gave two hens (RIR) to a neighbor friend and the hens a laying for him. He did put them in with two hens that have been laying for about a year.
My two hens (RIR) won't lay for me. They are the same age and same batch....
Is it because he has older hens to teach the younger or what is wrong...
