Hmmm,
All these are from a single source. I got some hatching eggs and all of my females are from the same source as well. I guess maybe I need to just cull the entire flock and get some eggs from a good source. A lot of time and money wasted though
Thanks for all the input. I will...
Here is a solution that perhaps both of you both can live with.
Close the bedroom door and put the fan in the window to suck in the cooler air. That way it won't pressurize the rest of the house. This would work best if you have 2 windows in the bedroom for airflow purposes.
Hello fellow BYCers,
I am getting ready to put my BCMs in a breeding pen and I need to thin the cockerels down to 2. I am no expert on the breed standard so I could use a little help choosing the best 2. If you could tell me which 2 look the best to you (and why) that would be greatly...

Hi Laurie,
I have been very busy so I haven't been able to log in. I did receive your eggs and they were all perfect! Awesome packing job. Just to let you know, I did put the 5 of the first dozen (that I washed and scrubbed the goo off lol) in the bator just to see what would...

Hey Laurie,
Thanks for sending some more. I figured something happened when I got the photos from my wife. After 1500 posts I would have been surprised if it was actually you that sent them. I got home a little while ago and all but 5 of em were cracked or smashed. I did wash...
Well my DW just emailed me photos of the eggs
She said they stink REALLY bad She had to take em out of the house they stunk so bad.
Should I try to incubate any of the ones that made it? I have a bad feeling they are all scrambled.
Here is a photo.
My wife called me and said I got my eggs today. I have not looked at them yet but she said many of them were smashed, leaking and stinky. I guess they were just mailed in an egg carton wrapped in bubble wrap with no padding between the eggs. I forgot to ask her where they came from, but I...

I have another question....
When I signed up I put that I only had standard pure available, but my banties have since started laying consistently enough that I could send them as well. Is it against the rules to include "extras" of a different type in addition to what you signed up for?
I have some mystery eggs and I am not quite sure who laid them. Here is a photo of the eggs in question. I have included all my eggs I collected over the past 2 days for reference. (I am saving them for incubation so they were all out anyway)
The ones I am not sure about are in the upper...
I never realized we had our own soap maker's thread here. I have been making soap for a few years now. I am looking forward to getting a few goats so I can try making goats milk soap from my own goats.
I am on day 10 of incubation and the one egg that started with a detached air cell is progressing quite nicely. I can see the embryo and it is moving and looks healthy other than the detached air cell. I have had it in the turner the entire time. I really didn't think it would make it, but I...
Just wanted to report that this thermostat is still performing perfectly. I can't believe how little the temp swings. I have one of those accurite thermometers that keeps min/max. My min was 99.1 and my max was 99.7 overnight. I think the 99.1 was just from opening the bator to hit the reset...

While you can sometimes see development on day 3, I don't think not seeing development on day 3 means they wont be fine. Hope everything turns out well for you!
This may not be exactly the one I got but it certainly looks identical.
I was going to use this as a backup, but after I saw how accurate it is, I made it my primary. I have this one set at 99.5. It never goes lower than 99.4 and never higher that 99.7. My other thermostat is set to shut...
