Umbilical cord on duckling attached for a day. What should I do??

This duckling hatched at 3am this morning but is still attached to everything via the umbilical cord. Should I cut it or let it dry up on its own and is there anything else I can do to help??

    Is this duckling okay??

Hey y'all, need some advice (again) I'm pretty sure a bunch of the egg goop that comes with hatching never really un attached from this duckling and now it’s dried up on his backside. Should I let it be and see if it falls off or treat it like pasty but and try removing it??? My main worry is...

Egg candling, how do these look?

Two duck eggs yet to hatch who are around day 28. One of the eggs has been heavily cracked since I first found it on day 14 and I can’t tell if it’s internally piped yet or not, the other doesn't seem to be moving much and I’m wondering if the duckling might be malpositioned. Egg 1 (cracked...

Hey y’all, it’s been awhile. Once again I have a question regarding a hatching duckling. Here’s some background: My duck was sitting on some eggs for around two weeks when we decided we had to move her due to other unrelated issues. I put the duck eggs in an incubator but unfortunately the...

I have a duck in a similar situation to your second duck. Since the injury she’s been in our bathtub recovering. She’s set up in an way where she can always lay down and still have access to food and water. Over time she’s greatly improved. You could possibly try something like this to help the...

Mixed breed flock pros, cons and goals

I have about 50 chickens and not more than 4 are the same breed. I enjoy the diversity in egg colors and like having no clue what my chicks are going to look like and getting some really interesting mixes.

Help with 5 day old chick

The electrolytes are good. If she’s not drinking you can tilt her head into the water. If she’s not eating you can try giving her some egg yolk. Hopefully more will see your post and give you greater advice, good luck!

    Confirmation on breed and gender

They all look female, but Easter egger? I wouldn’t be too sure. They definitely don’t look like typical Easter eggers, but they could be mixes. Mojito looks the most like an Easter egger in my opinion just b/c I have a half Easter egger who looks the same.
