HA it worked! Perfectly !!! :D It went from 94 degrees, to 99 1/2 degrees. The temp is set at 100 degrees :D I made the door out of cardboard, will have to go to the store to buy some plexi glass.
I think your right on the fan, if your right - than I can place a piece of pelxi glass, or something in front of the egg trays (make it like a door). If there is a good circulation in side the incubator, i'm sure my hatch rates would increase dramatically, - but so far, they have been really...
It blows front to back ( i think), if not, it will be easier. i've been thinking of things to improve it.
If it is still 3 degrees off, that is not good in my opinion, and the modification will be removable if it doesn't work. Its nothing but a removable piece of wood re-dericting the air...
Not to happy with GQF. I went to fire up my incubator. I figured out that the temperatures are not the same for each level of egg trays, i'm disappointed... for 700 bucks... and the incubator is not accurate. Anyways I have figured how to fix this. It can be fixed by placing a piece of wood in...
I'll be the bad judge - lol - the only flaw I can see is, - if something like a (raccoon, possum, mink..etc.) may get into the cage (if there is no wire on the bottom). There is another problem I can see. If the ceiling is hard, it can be dangerous. The quail (if spooked) will most likely try to...
Hey is there any good quail breeders on eBay? I want to trust some of those breeders, but i'm scared of receiving old eggs / different breeds / tiny pool genes. I do not want to buy off other websites. The reason being,- its that - those folks on eBay probably have some type of reputation, and...
This is my opinion.
1. have noticed a lot people have mesh flooring rather than a solid floor. What are the advantages of each and which one would you suggest I incorporate in my design?
- I do not like Mesh wire, or solid floors. I choose wire, over floors. Like the post above, it is so...
I've always set me eggs down for one day before incubation. That would help them settle for a day. If you store them properly, they can be good for 10 days (Max), after that - the eggs may be to old.
I never thought of that. I don't think color would be a huge difference between breeds. Perhaps it's just genetics? As a poultry breeder - if I were you, I would start on coturnix quail, and move up to the wild types of quail. Coturnix are the basic line of quail, for beginners, and learners...
