I just had two batches shipped to me from eBay purchases. I was skeptical about shipping fertile eggs because I've shipped for years and handlers are brutal. There's no way to keep a box oriented any certain way. You can mark it "this side up" and fragile but that doesn't mean much. I did hatch...
Well I'm certainly no expert and only recently began incubation chickens. I've raised psitticines for 35 years which required me to incubate once in a while. I honestly had never heard the term lockdown as most all the parrot breeders never followed that approach. I am using a pretty decent...
I understand. I use a handheld candler and candle mine throughout drawdown into pipped but my incubator recovers temp and humidity quickly. I'm new to poultry but incubated various species of psitticines for many years. Good luck with your hatch.
I purchased 10 silky eggs from fleabay and was shipped 12. I had 1 infertile and 2 died after 2 weeks in incubator. I have 7 out and the other 2 are pipped , this is day 21. My incubator has an adjustable timer for the turner rollers and it was set for larger Breda eggs that hatched last week...
Monday was day 21 after placing in the incubator? Did they all get into the air cell between 18-20 days? Mine died on day 21 that had not pipped into the air cell. Not sure how long they can go once into the air space but if your sure about your dates I would say they are way overdue
Good luck with your hatch. I don't think moving them should be a problem. Correction, I have 10 total. I forgot I had one die in shell last week. That last egg had to be helped and has much larger feet than the others.
Out of the 14 fertile I have 10 in the brooder 1 still hatching and 3 that were fully developed but failed to get into the air cell and died. I tried to save them but was too late, out of those 3, 2 were positioned correctly and 1 was not.
