EE egg color starting to fade?

Yeah, then I would guess she is just going through a molt. Don't worry about it. :)

Or maybe a light brahma or columbian wyandotte.

    What breed is she??

It's hard to tell, given the pic, but I would guess a delaware based on the white plumage with black stripes on the neck.

What is going on here? Mating confusion.

I think it is nothing unusual if they don't do the mating dance thing, some roos do and some don't. How old is the remaining rooster and what breed is he?

Buff Orpington turning from yellow to white?!

First of all, she is beautiful. Second, it is not unusual for chickens to change colors after a molt. If you did not change her feed or anything like that, then I would guess it is just a molting thing. No worries.

Welcome to BYC! I am a huge fan of Salmon Faverolles because they are so cute and nice, but here is a great chick selector tool to find a chicken that is perfect for you and your situation. http://www.mypetchicken.com/chicken-breeds/which-breed-is-right-for-me.aspx

EE egg color starting to fade?

Hens go through laying cycles. The eggs are always darker at the beginning of the cycle and lighter at the end so that could be all that is happening. How long has this been going on?

    Chicken Exihibitions

Hi! I just showed my chickens at the state fair, and I won trophies again. But, I am wondering how they judge. Does anyone know what the judges look for? Nice, feathers, cleanliness, etc? I don't have enough money to buy the Standard of Perfection book, so can anybody just tell me? Thanks!

    Bare Bottom Chickens

I just received these birds from my neighbor for free, along with a little coop. 4 hens I think. I think they have mites. He said he cleaned out the coop and sprayed it with mite killer and powdered the chickens. Is it mites? Is there anything else I can do? Is this one a roo or a hen...
