ok, I will try to be patient and wait till next monday to post again. it is soooooooooo not easy to wait. lol
and if memory serves, (i will look back at the week old pics) the largest of them was a bit larger than the other 3. mind you I bought them from a guy on craigs list, who had 8 totes of...
I don't know... The largest white one let's me pet it and today,
I placed my hand on it's back and it went right down to the
Ground and stayed under my hand without a fuss, and I didn't
Put any force or pressure on it. It could have walked away
At any time and didn't move till I lifted my...
I have a 24gal. Nano cube fish tank for sale. I'm asking 150.
I had it set up for a little more than a year. It is a bow front
Tank. Has a hood with flouresent lights and moon lights. There
Are dual fans in the hood also. I used it for salt water fish.
Pm me if you have questions or interest...
It could be anything. They were a week old when I bought them.
If it is a white rock, will it be a good laying hen? And are white
Rock chickens meat birds? I wanted laying hens and if we had one roo that would be ok, but I wanted BYC's so we could have our own
Eggs.
I started collecting all...
would love it if a few more opinions were given.
I can keep "a" roo, but I cant keep two or more, so the sooner I know how many I have the sooner I can find a home for any extra roo's there may be. and the sooner I can decide how/where I will get females to replace them.
I wanted a few...
do you have any idea if we are male or female?
Im pretty sure the two white ones are white leghorns, the other two EE's.
This one has the green legs, and I think it could be a roo, the comb is much redder in person:
The chicken butt in the backround belongs to the chicken in the first pic. I...
I live on the border of RI/MA and I looked on craigs list and found a person less than a 10 min drive from me with over 100 baby chicks for sale.
I dont think there is a TSC near me, I know of one place that sells chicks and there is a limit you have to buy "12" (I cant have 12)
I bought 4...
but, I only seem to kill my own threads...
does anyone have any ideas now about what type/breed of chicks these are?
Possible sex???
If more pics are needed, let me know, I took a few more tonight
thanks,
take care,
Lori

not at all sure, it's my best guess after looking around, and googling.... lol,
does anyone have a different opinion.... i really didn't want meat birds, (if that is what cornish x are)... I want chickens that will live long enough to lay eggs for a while...., I think meat birds arent...
very nice looking bunch of chicks!!
Can you tell me what the breed of the chick in pic #5 and #7 are,,, the ones I think are white leghorns (my chicks) look just like them..
thanks,
Lori
Ok, I know their just a bit over two weeks, but here are a few updated pics,
The two that I think are white leghorns, left could be roo?? right hen? Im looking at the comb on the bigger (left) one, and the lack of tail feathers on him, the one on the right has a good length to her tail...
just a little updated pic.
the chicks love being in the run. I opened the door for them to the coop, and after about an hour or so of being left alone, they finally went in there, and were all having a little nap in the fresh shavings. lol although they all looked comfy, I had to catch them...
Thank you to every one! I helped a little, but my husband
Did all the work
Yes, there was a wooden bunny attached to the door, we
Recycled a bunny hutch given to us by a neighbor. My
Daughter is going to paint something chicken related on
It.
We talked about painting it, but I think the vote...
thank you
Im cool, I like to bust chops too.... LOL
I have 4 chicks now, that are two weeks old.
I want to add two more in the near future, but i want to try to incubate/hatch them myself.
take care,
Lori
oops , the pic was taken last night, and we added steps on the ramp today... Ill post a pic of that tomorrow also.
Its a dwarf peach tree, is that ok for the chickens to pick at?? not really sure, but someone said they like fruit...
Lori
how warm does the night need to be to put them in the coop outside?
My chicks are two weeks old now, and I put them outside the entire day today, but MAN are they buggers to catch to bring back in the house!! lol, I was running around like a chicken without a head!! LOL, chasing baby peeps all...
Ok, all thats left to do is add a couple of air vents in the highest part of the coop, and add the chicks. lol, as soon as their old enough.
Let me know what you think of it, I'll take pics of the inside tomorrow.
take care,
Lori
oops., sorry forgot the pics lol
are you using a red bulb in your heat lamp? My chicks are about 2 weeks old and I notice that if I turn the light off for a bit, because the weather got REALLY warm the last two days, they chirped their little heads off, I turned the light back on and in a minute or two, they all calmed right...
Ok so you built a "play house" for your "kids" (they are
Your "kids" right?
What's it to them?
I can't stand it when 1 or 2 people think they own the
Block, the city,YOUR world! People need to get a grip!
Good luck with it all
