I hatch all mine in my garage but it's attached to my house so it isn't as hot but it is pretty humid. I haven't ever had any pip internally before the 3 day lock down. I have refilled water and quickly candled during lock down and I can tell you that for mine they pip internally and then...
If they are close to hatching you really need to resist the urge to open the incubator. Every time you open it to check on them or candle them you loose humidity and increase the chances that they won't be able to hatch. It takes a while for them to hatch
I have been using a Brinsea Octo 20 for hatching for the last couple of years. I paid 150.00 for it on sale. It would be hard for me to say how many eggs I've put in there and what the results are. Most of my eggs are shipped to me so there are a lot of different factors. I've hatched chicken...
I order from Ebay a lot and have only had one bad experience. I rely on feedback when deciding what auctions to bid on. I don't pay attention to feedback regarding hatches because that isn't fair to the seller since there are so many variables. But please give neg. feedback to sellers like this...
Thanks for the replies! I was thinking Blue Cochin also but the one chick is so light, almost silver, so that threw me off. They all have 4 toes and yellow feet
A local farmer gave me 12 eggs to hatch but they had no idea what breed their chickens are. The eggs were small and light brown/cream color. I think they might be Cochin but I'm not sure and the silver/white color is throwing me off. Any ideas what breed they might be and what color?
He/She is almost 5 weeks and stands like a rooster but has a lot more feathers than the other Barnie chick but it's comb is smaller and isn't as red. Anybody have any ideas on gender or is it too early to tell?
As a feather comparison the chick in the front is the same age and breed
I ordered 12 eggs off Ebay on June 3. They arrived last Friday (the 7th). I let them sit in a cool place all day and put them in the incubator last night. I did notice that one of the eggs looked really dark inside when I candled them yesterday and it smelled funny but I thought maybe the yolk...
I have that chicken soup one and I have to get 50,000 food to finish, which is taking me a while. Other than that I just need to finish a building or two to finish the missions. The pioneer trail has been pretty easy and I haven't needed neighbors until it asked to upgrade my wagon. I only have...
He looks like a nice commercial buck. It could just be the picture, but his back isn't as strait as I like and it makes him look downhill. Also I would agree with the age they gave you, he looks like he's 4
BTW toothpaste works really well when trying to get that nasty buck smell off your hands
I have mixed feeling about this story. I think more information should have been provided and it's hard to judge when you can't see any proof. To me the rabbits they show look healthy. They appear to be clean and their eyes look clear and aren't showing any signs of being sick. Also 84 degrees...
I don't know what the law is in Missouri, but in Kansas you aren't supposed to take animals from their natural habitat. You can only keep turtles if they are born in captivity and to be honest I feel that any animal (or reptile) born in the wild deserves to stay in the wild. This time of the...
