Incubating experiences...

I'm sorry, I'm not experienced at incubating....I thought you brought the humidity up to about 65% or a bit more at lockdown (day 18) and left it there, but maybe you had better post that question in another forum to be sure....I wouldn't want to be responsible for losing your chicks!!!
Sounds exciting anyway....if the hatch is successful post some pics of them with the photos of your incubators...

Ok. ill take some pics of the incubator and put them up for you tomorow. only cause i have little ones in bed and everytime i go in the egg room they follow me..lol. so i wana keep them in bed right now. but ill take pics for you tomorow and put them up. im hatching ducks. so far all 15 are alive and taking turns in progression. but i know bad things happen during hatch time..so hopefully they all make it. im just proud i got them this far and all still alive. it is my first big batch. ..meaning i only had 1 egg make it to day 22 using a fish aquarium for an incubator..haha. but that was before i knew anything about eggs. back when i thought you could keep them warm in a shoe box..haha. i was very un-aware of this whole incubating world

I am using a Brinsea Mini Advanced and have my first 6 eggs hatching as I write this. Obviously I am very happy with it. I got it at Amazon for $149 and it is perfect for me. Only holds 7 eggs but as far as auto turning, temperature control and humidity it seems right on. Brinsea has several models, but think I would pay the extra $ for the "advanced" one. It is easy to set up and then handles everything for the next 21 days!

I have been using a Brinsea Octo 20 for hatching for the last couple of years. I paid 150.00 for it on sale. It would be hard for me to say how many eggs I've put in there and what the results are. Most of my eggs are shipped to me so there are a lot of different factors. I've hatched chicken and Guinea eggs in it and had great hatches with both.

I started using a Hova Bator for hatching this year since I've been incubating eggs all summer. It has a lot more room for the chicks to move around and I bought it for 50.00. It is a little harder to adjust but it hold the temp steady once I set it right. It is easier to maintain hatching humidity in the Hova Bator and holds more eggs than the Brinsea
