It's illegal to own a rooster in my area, also I can't have any more pets. Also if a chick somehow hatched I would make sure it would not die. Also the cream leg bar is also old 4 years I think the isbar is 6 years.
Yes my hens have gone broody before and I hatched chicks before I was just thinking of making this a week long project. I lock her from her nest for half and hour to eat drink have dirt baths then I let her back in with her eggs.
My goal is to see what she reacts to different eggs and things. Not to raise chicks. My other hen is starting to go broody on the other hens eggs, she is a very old swedish isbar. But I was wondering like what if I put a easter egg under her, or a weird smelling egg. Just to see her reaction to...
I have a broody cream leg bar. I don't want any more chicks but my chickens don't go broody often. So I was thinking I would run a few experiments, such as seeing how would she react to different egg colors shapes and sizes. If anybody has any suggestions for an experiment they want me to do on...
For quail I do two milliliter twice a day for 16 days and she took 10 days to recover from the sickness and 19 days to become not contagious. So I imagine you should do 3 milleliter twice a day for a chicken.
I have a coturnix quail that had a unusually large beak. Today I checked on him and the bottom half of his beak is missing. His beak unlike most quail is a little over a inch long now it is about 1/2
Of of a inch he looks like he's doing fine he is eating he is drinking right now I separated him...
Ok. BTW the quail after being able to just sleep for a while she has been acting much better. I think it is possible she has a mild sickness but the other quail wouldn't let her sleep it off. I kinda panicked at first when I saw her condition she is not doing great but she is doing better.
Thank you. But there is one weird thing she laid and egg every two days sometimes even daily. She laid eggs every two days last week! She also laid an egg two days ago and was very energetic until yesterday at around 6pm she became this sick quail. It's weird. Do quail die this way?
Hello I have a year-and-a-half old coturnix quail and yesterday she was doing great she was very energetic I gave her some mealworms she was acting like all of the other quail then at the end of the day when I open their coop to usually say hi give them a couple treats and then replace their...
Try locking the broody hen away from the other chickens for a day and then if the roosters fight with each other or beat up the hens then open it back up but if the rooster shown any sign of aggression towards the broody Chicken then it would be best to remove the broody Chicken. I don't have...
I mean you could move them into a brooder sometimes the roosters will pick on the chicks and kill them so if there is two roosters and a female I would recommend moving the female to a small cage with food and water so she can incubate them also if the roosters beat on each other you should...
