They are all from the same hatch. The closest one is probably triple the size of the others. I’ve never noticed the leg space but I will make sure to look! Thank you for the advice!
Thank you all for the response. I will certainly give the neosporin a shot! Other than the eye there are no signs of sickness, no sneezing or coughing, no drainage from the eye or nose. She is wet in the picture from a saline flush.. I put the organic apple cider vinegar in her water to maybe...
I have a 12 week old pullet that I bought from a swap 4 weeks ago. She has been in isolation for four weeks with one exception about a week an a half ago when I tried to introduce her to my laying hens (thinking one pecked her). Her eye has been swollen for a week now, it seems to have been...
I have already posted about this chick once already and found out she is a rainbow chicken from Hoover Hatchery. Now, I bought a run of pullets..not straight run..and I know there could be an oops factor. I would like the experts to help me decide whether she belongs in my coup or someone else's...
That looks like the area where a chicks umbilical cord was. It's possible that it was damaged and caused a prolapse. I'm sorry this happened, hopefully the rest of your peeps are doing okay.
I really would like a docile hen but also would not mind the attitude of an aseel, I also didn't think TSC would supply such a breed but I guess stranger things have happened. Here are her six week photos, she is such a cooperative trooper..anything for some feed
She is the oddball, I haven't been able to google any look alikes. I wouldn't be mad if she is a Sicilian buttercup, they are very pretty birds! She doesn't have a buttercup comb though, it is straight and the chick coloring on her was all brown so I don't think it is likely.
Thank you for all the warm welcomes! I am really enjoying all of the useful information this site has to offer and the helpful people that fill it! I look forward to learning all I need to build a happy healthy flock!
Hey BYC! I am a new chicken momma! I have had my ladies for going on four weeks now, only one casualty being I had my chicks shipped. I have always wanted chickens and now I have them I originally wanted 4-6 hens for eggs. Ten hens in and I am wondering how many is too many? Chicken math...
I definitely have my alert up for a possible cockerel. This chick is easily twice the size and twice the attitude of her brooder mates all hatched same day. Whatever it ends up being will be more than okay with me though, just as long as she isn't a rooster
Here is an update on my mystery chick The rest of my girls are white rock, RIR, golden comet or red sex link so this girl (hopefully she stays a girl) really sticks out
