I wondered about that with the feed stores. I like our ducks but we are thinking about selling them and starting over next year with females. Buying them sexed from Metzer. We thought we would save money this way but we don't get what we want. -

Drakes mounting drake.
I have six ducks. Two Pekins(Drake) a Khaki Campbell(drake) and three Blue Swedish(one drake two hens) I got them all as ducklings. Today I noticed the Pekins going after the Swedish drake. Grabbing onto him and looks like they were trying to mount him while of course he was trying to get away. -

I just had to share this funny thing Ming Ming does, he is a Pekin. He carries a cluster of leaves around. He will also do a little dance like he is showing his prize off to the other ducks. It is so funny. -

Mine sound nothing like that. They still chirp. A couple times I thought one was starting to quack, wasn't very loud, sounded kinda croaky. -

Our Pekins are a month old now and they are in an outside pen that we open for awhile during the day to let them forage. The four we brought home Friday are still inside of course. Once they are big enough how can I introduce them? Has there ever been problems adding new ducks? -
