Griz came from a house where there were white doves flying in the air, chicks in a playpen in the living room, and three small children who played with the puppies all day (and not a sniff of manure not hint of feathers srifting in the air: I do not know how they did any of it); he's...
Stumpfarmer that is a great picture... Griz is darling and very intense looking. That is what I will be facing for. Ellie is very good with my son who is 5 although when he really gets going she will nip at his pants legs to herd him. She also grabs at the tires of his bike as he rides...
Yay!!! You all give me hope for my dog:) I like the story about the other birds in your yard Chicken Rustler.... Ellie loves the to chase birds even when they are flying high above the trees....
Chicken Rustler that is a beautiful dog:) That is what my plan was going to be. She is very smart and listens very well so I am really going to work on her with the chickens... She knows leave it and the showing of a chick would be a good way to introduce.. I want to start early so she gets...
Ellie my dog is only a little over a yr so still pretty young.. I only did about two classes at Fido Farm she just really took to it and loved it... I will check with them and see what they say:)
She chases anything that moves and has a very strong herding instinct. She has been in herding classes and does really well with the sheep but she is mouthy so I would worry... I don't think her aim would be to hurt them but she does get excited. She has seen the baby chicks but I hold her at...
Good Dog!! How do I get my English Shepherd (like a Border Collie) used to the chicks and a bit less focused on them... There not even out in the coop yet:0
The barn I ride at is in Yelm so I spend lots of time there during the summer:) Although I just got a new horse so we need to get used to each other a bit before we will be doing a bunch, He is an OTTB and very sweet.... I had to sell two horses and it was hard! We still have to build a coop...
