Ms. Lewis Rich :
Love mine , loved it soo much bought 2 of them. One to incubate and one for hatches.
Just plug in and add water where it tells you too every 2 to 3 days.
You can also buy an extra piece that if the electric goes out you can connect it to a car battery and it will run off that...
Just wondering if anyone has ever crossed a Delaware with a White Rock, and what they turned out like, as far as egg production, color, and meat? Any Info would be great!

Hey Shelly,
The all white ones are the Delahorns, (all that i hatched out had some sort of black on them when they were in the fuzz, feathers come out white). mine are all white, one or 2 of them have a black spot on them but other then that all white they are!!
Shelly,
I would say the first and the 3rd look like Delahorns to me, you can kind of tell by the tail, a sticky outy, pirky, (errect) fan type tail will be your delahorn, and with the Delaware, they kind of have a more of a ball type tail, with loose feathers on it.
Miss_jayne, do you have...
Basically wait until they feather out, your cockerels will normally have more black speck from head down to back, and tail feathers get the barring on them. (by this time the combs should also be Identifiable. Hens will have some black specks like a collar around the neck line, some black on...

you'll know in a few weeks as leghorns are shaped differently than the Dellies. you'll notice a 'combo' look of some sort!
i will keep track of who pops out of what. can i borrow some of those bands you bought? i would only need five, max for the delahorns.
I just used a green...
Oh how sweet is that!! She is way cute! WOW and those little yellow things are super cute also, where did you get such beautiful chicks??
And by the way, my pure cockeral Leghorn, is a she!! One time I want a cockeral, and it doesn't happen, and I think out of 27 chicks 17 are cockerals...
My Cockerals are starting to get their wattals (how ever you spell it) they are 5 weeks. and I'm thinking my 1 pure Leghorn is a cockeral, not positive yet, I'm not even sure if the one I think is him, is!!!
Shelley mine are way curiose also, but they hate the flash light.

Shelley, so far my "Delahorns" (I still laugh at that!) are all white, (or off white, hard to tell with the red heat lamps) they may have an odd black speck on them, but nothing like the pure Delaware!
Keep checking under their wings, eventually you will see the grey feathers coming in..
