Shelley, so far my "Delahorns" (I still laugh at that!) are all white, (or off white, hard to tell with the red heat lamps) they may have an odd black speck on them, but nothing like the pure Delaware!

Keep checking under their wings, eventually you will see the grey feathers coming in..

The little darlings are 3 days old today....and getting their first feathers! WOWZA!

These chicks are just the sweetest little things...soooo friendly and curious. Here's a few new pics.

Everyone had to check out the new feeder...still not big enough for all of them!

Ok, these pics are just way too cute. I decided to put Sparky, my sizzle chick, in with the Dellie chicks to see how she would do. She was such a terrific foster mom to 9 cochin and brahma chicks, so I thought I'd give her some new babes since her others are getting pretty big. As you can see in the pics, she had absolutely no problem with becoming their instant mom and assuming her role. I've never seen such a wonderful temperament in a chicken, much less one her age. She's only 6 weeks old herself!

This little guy was just too pooped to participate!

Sparky's introducing herself to a few of the chicks.

And here, she's showing them the proper way to sunbathe.

One time I want a cockeral, and it doesn't happen, and I think out of 27 chicks 17 are cockerals

My first project with these guys is to figure out who the Delahorns are. Then I'll start working on the sexing. I can't wait to see how that turns out. That's ALMOST as exciting as waiting for the eggs to hatch!
