Okay, I was thinking about Midget Whites, Bourbon Reds, and some broad breasted. So, I think we could get a complete order together including some Royal Palms.
I'm in Minden, but travel to Reno multiple times per week. I think delivery would be early April-ish.
Hi All,
Anybody interested in turkeys? I want to order some heritage breeds, but don't want 15 of them. Let me know and I'll take care of ordering and delivering.
Jason
If you do find a source, make sure to research before buying. You could end up with a lot of work ahead of you if you don't!
How so?
Are there things I need to know about this particular breed, or just buying chickens in general?
Hello All,
I just stumbled upon the Buckeye breed and am looking for a source for fertilized eggs. I live on Buckeye Creek in Nevada, so I thought this breed should be represented on our property. Does anybody have a source with eggs available? I'd like to hatch some out before it gets too...
Hello All,
Guinea Fowl Update: Of the 18 eggs, 12 appeared to be fertile at 10 days, 6 appear to be still viable at 25 days, 1 is iffy. Should start to see some activity on Sunday (Day 28). Not shaping up to be an encouraging hatch rate, but this is our first time, so I hope we'll improve...

Day one of the coop construction. Not as much progress as expected, but considering it's a design/build project, I'm pleased with what we've accomplished, and happy to be this much closer to getting some chickens!
Some of the posts were shorter than what I wanted so we put some of them...
So, what is the final analysis of this project? Success? Not feasible? Incomplete?
I'm going to attempt a similar endeavor. I'll keep you all posted!
Thanks for all the valuable information, Great Stuff.
Haha...okay. Well, he's really nice and doesn't make a sound, so far. I love the way he looks, darn.
I'm glad I finally asked!
How about this one:
Thanks,

Hello All,
So, to date, none of the birds we got in early-mid July have produced anything. We brought in a couple of "ringers" and have been getting eggs from them. This might be a dumb question, but I'm not an expert. I've attached some pictures of the bird I got from Genny and am curious...
As a refuge from the daily grind, I'll be happy when I can come on to BYC and not have to look at Harry Reid or Sharon Angle's faces!
Englyntine, when you get a chance, I'd love to see some pictures of your worm/compost arrangement.
SparksNV, I don't know that it's an option for you, but if you look at the poo tray I installed in my coop you'll see that it hangs directly below their roost. It catches 90% of the litter that would normally hit the ground. It's easy to remove/clean and keeps the floor almost poo-free...
