Well...1st attempt ever of incubating eggs...DISASTER!!! they were in the bator for over 4 weeks and today i plucked up the courage to chuck them and start again. 2 of the eggs were almost developed (that broke my heart!) but the rest looked like they started developed, then stopped. Should I be worried?

They are bantam eggs. Normally, under our hens, they hatch out after 28 days...i'm guessing this in unusual too?

    Chicken Mites

Hi I have recently discovered we have chicken mites in our coup (it is basically a wooden shed so apparently its not surprising!) How is the best way of getting rid of them and how do we prevent them coming back? We have already lost one chicken to the mites so it would be good to know!

    1st time incubating!

The eggs i used were from our own hens...we seperated them off so we could have 'pure' eggs...2 hens to 1 cockral. I know there is something inside them as i did infact crack on open after 3 and a half weeks...and there was a half developed chick inside it (scarred me for life!) I am shocked...
