    Cheers all: I feel your pain. I culled a 1wk. old today with splayed leg. I tried the bandaid thing but this just made the chick lie on its belly and thrust both legs behind it. So after due consideration I decided not to raise a special needs chick. good luck: all the best

    Thanks Akane: that means 90%!!!! I'll take it woohoo!! yes they were shipped eggs, which took 2 days and was planned around weather. halo packed em REALLY!!! well loads of bubble wrap and each egg bubble wrapped as well.

    Cheers all: When a roo mates with a hen, how long does the sperm stay in the hen? Is the sperm used each mating per egg, or does the hen store the sperm for several fertilizations? If she stores it, how long after the roo is removed will she lay fertile eggs? thanks: kenny
