I guess I’m trying deworming, any suggestions? One of the crosses didn’t get down this morning for food, eyes close just sitting there😫. I have been doing corid awhile, should I drop the dose like the bottle or just wait another 21 days? I’m also doing the sulfa 1x a day, they are roosting now...
...How many days of Corid is left?
After you finish the Corid, begin giving her 1/4 tablet B-Complex daily, see if this helps.
Liquid Coriddose is 2tsp or Powdered CoridDose is 1 1/2tsp per gallon of water given for 5-7 days as the only source of drinking water.

I've done it. I think it's fine, I probably asked this also, but don't recall the answer. I think I wouldn't have done it if someone had said it wasn't fine. Of course, safe guard is dosed in syringe, and CORID goes in the water, so they're given at roughly the same time, but not "together".
Chickens don’t have stomachs so I am a little suspicious of the vet’s advice. In my experience coccidiosis is the most likely suspect and blood doesn’t always show up in the stool with it. It happens very often when a chicken is exposed to new soil that contains a new strain of cocci bacteria...
...Are they still eating o.k.? You can also make a wet mash with your mixed Corid water to get just a bit more into them.

...Equine Paste. Valbazen can also be used.
For Coccidiosis, Corid is the treatment.

Hello! I noticed bloody stool yesterday morning when I opened up the coop, so I ran to the store and got Corid. My 11 week old chickens do not seem to have any other symptoms, and none of them are injured. I dosed their water correctly, 2 tsp per gallon. It is the only source of drinking water...
You can also give them some of the corid orally, to help get it in them quicker, until they start drinking on their own. Dosing and instructions for that are here:

If it's the liquid corid you will use it...
You've given an outbreak dosage for 7days and a preventative dose for 5days.
No. I would not continue with treatment.
Make sure the chicks are eating their chick starter very well and drinking to stay hydrated. They should also have a source of Grit (Crushed Granite) available free choice...
I grabbed a bag of chick feed with 30% protein instead of our 28% to maybe help give them a little boost. Will give some egg yolk today too probably unless you guys think it'd be a bad idea/too much change. I got corid, I'm dosing it out now, hopefully these little guys recover fast. Should I do...
Thank you very much for taking the time to educate me on this. Assuming I’m catching it early, if I start treating all my chickens tomorrow they should be okay? I know nothing is guaranteed, but I just want to know I at least tried you know?
- Philippines
- BEC crumbles is purchased in local feed store so I really don't know much
- bantam ...I don't know the specific type tho
- No, I've purchased grit but it hasn't arrived yet
- No he hasn't dewormed
- my local feed store suggested nf-one sulfadiazine+trimethoprim for him...
Make a REALLY runny mash and lay it along their beaks with an eyedropper. They should swallow reflexively. You can do the same thing with a dose of straight (undiluted) Corid, to make sure they get it. Hang in there!
Well, that's a loaded question:D
For the specific hen you had in decline - yes, I would have treated with all 3 together. After treatments were finished, I'd give probiotics daily for a week or so, then start tapering off. I'd also give poultry vitamins a couple of times a week for a few...
Sorry I probably wasn't specific on how the medicines were given.
Albon and Fenbendazole as wormers were once daily, they came in syringes already prefilled and we were suppose to give them as drops to her beak. The smz-tmp as a antibiotic every 12 hours also in a syringe we drop into her...
Make sure they get the chick sized grit while they get worms and food other than chick feed. The first picture shows a cecal poop. Because of the second picture I would be tempted to start some Corid in case of early coccidiosis. Dosage of Corid liquid is 1/2 tsp per quart, or 2 tsp per gallon...
Please post photos of the chicks, their poop and your brooder setup.
☝️☝️ This is Correct!! For a quart of water, Liquid Coriddose would be 1/2 teaspoon. Do not increase you dosing.
👇👇This is NOT Correct!! It should be 2 Teaspoons (tsp) per gallon of water, not 2 Tablespoons (tbsp).
