Oh geez! I did not know that RK sold chicks year round!! 😭 There's an RK not too far from us, but TSC is closer, so I don't usually go to RK for anything... I am shooketh.
"You cannot have more chickens, you cannot have more chickens, you cannot...Do not collect chicks, do not pass Go..." (me...
You can always try a bit of egg yolk...I know Meyer Hatchery recommends this (or warm scrambled egg) for lethargic chicks. I think there's also a sugar water recipe for an energy boost (1 teaspoon to 1 quart of warm water, IIRC), but I think that's only recommended to be given for a short period...
I feel that! I'm the exact same way when I have little ones. That's why I took a break from getting more - it's exhausting worrying about them all day and night (but worth it, too)!
They just seem so darn fragile (especially the bantams)!!
I have a REALLY hard time when I go into TSC. The only thing that keeps me from buying chicks is the horrible rep TSC has for mislabling breeds/sexes 😆. I just have to repeat "it's not what they say it is, it's not what they say it is..." 😵💫
You bet! Coccidiosis is scary and not fun at all. Thankfully Corid usually knocks it out pretty quickly and then those chicks will have built up an immunity to the type of organism on your property!
Please come back and update us on how they're doing! Sending good juju your way.
You can continue to feed the medicated feed or you can give them the regular feed (the medicated feed contains a very small amount of amprolium (Corid), so it won't cause an overdose or anything). What you have is the correct product. It is safe to use on the chicks. :)
Use the 1.5 teaspoon per...

Powder dose:

Make sure it is the sole source of drinking water, and make new solution daily.
Sorry...
Oohhh, a mystery 🧐. I'm just here to see what other, more knowledgeable people think. Also "blowing coat" had me cackling 🤣.
:pop
My guess is that it's likely a combo of all the things you listed a.k.a. stress...
I have family in Marquette. I've only visited a few times, but the FLIES ☠️...the freaking FLIES. The only way to get relief is to get in the freezing water!
