Oh Yeah they do!!! my rabbits and goats love it too!! Me? Not so much! I pull it out the second I see the beginnings of the plant and now have my daughter trained too!
The Lamb's Quarter is a People Food here.... We started eating it last year and immedietely started cultivating it for salads... We love it and the Rabbits eat the stem parts after we have picked them clean. They love it!
...is why the Pekins make better meat birds. My Rouens are gorgeous , but it VERY HARD to imagine them bigger than the Pekins.... Time will tell.
*Side note* We have a pair of Muskies down the street that just wander the streets and we have no idea who owns them or if they just own...
#1 is very tall and scraggly looking. Probably 3-4 feet and the shoots at the bottom come out 2-3 feet. Haven't seen any flowers yet.
#2 is about 1.5 - 2 feet tall
#3 is 4 feet and taller! and I have a TON of it!
#4 is a foot or so and had TONS of little thin pod looking things on it...
***UPDATE***
Brought the situation to Meyers attention... They said they had a couple complaints of the same thing and refunded us for the all of the "defective" chickens. We have since separated out the EE/GLW mixes into a "new" flock with our beautiful Black Sexlink mutt Roo who "Blackie"...
Our experience was a Winter of picking and bleeding... We tried Bluecote (the purple stuff) with very limited success. It fixed a couple of the many chickens we had that were affected. We then moved on to blinders... also with very limited success. Some more chickens got better and it seemed to...
So if they are pulled out, will they not grow back till they molt? I have some hens who's bums got picked clean, they were pulled out and some where broken off. The ones that were broken, have sort of grown back, but the ones that were pulled, have not.
We had a bum feather picking problem for a while during the Winter. Through careful shifting within different flocks and use of blinders, etc, we've been able to stop the picking. That said we have gotten most of them to grow their tails back. Some however are completely bald back there and one...

There are a few different things you can do:
* Vicks Vaporub placed on the damaged bums works sometimes...
* Pinless Peepers Works, but the Chickens look really freaking silly
* And the absolute, fix it everytime, cure.... a wrung neck and trip to the dinner table! Works everytime!!
The "Forced Bow" always works great for me... Followed by the hold them on the deck till I feel it is time for them to be allowed to go. Also the "Upside-down Hold" works great for the Flip-out Chickens too. I usually use this to get a Roo to give up, then I carry him around for 15-30 minutes...

Is this just a "Meyer" thing or does this happen everywhere.... I have seen a lot of people with this exact same EE/GLW mix issue... They can't all be from Meyer... Right??
And don't get me wrong... I love my GLW'ish birds.. I just wanted to breed GLWs for my area. I love the breed...

If it were just about eggs I wouldn't care less but only for the purposes of breeding do I really care. We have a flock of Mutts that are just for eggs and my DWs enjoyment. So, I will call them and see what they are willing to do and I will post the results.

Not sure where to direct you on cancel/keeping your order, but the first one pictured is from an entirely separate order(about 3 month apart) I wish I could say I was more pleased because their prices are good and the Broilers I got from them were amazing, with only a couple losses and...
These Chickens are supposed to be purebred Gold Laced Wyandottes...
My suspicions were peaked when my sole surviving hen from our first, massacred, flock of GLW chicks. The larger chicken in the first pic is laying blue/green eggs, which apparently means she is not a Pure GLW... Now that I was...
