Is this just a "Meyer" thing or does this happen everywhere.... I have seen a lot of people with this exact same EE/GLW mix issue... They can't all be from Meyer... Right??

And don't get me wrong... I love my GLW'ish birds.. I just wanted to breed GLWs for my area. I love the breed!

My GLWs came from Cackle and were quite good quality, I thought. Yellow legs and fairly good lacing. 3 out of 5 did have single combs, but that is fine with me. They ARE a very pretty breed. I sold mine because they were the most persistent broodies I had ever seen, back when I hated broodies. But now I love broodies and have thought about getting a few more GLWs from Cackle again...

I have 1 GLW and 2 SLW that are all hatchery hens. MY GLW is beautiful even though she is single comb, but I wasn't buying for showing or breeding, so that was fine by me. Your birds are mixes for sure, with EE in them from the looks of it.

Here is a pic of my GLW "Skittle"...other than the single comb she is what a GLW normally should look like.

She's really sweet, and actually a little "rounder" looking now.

No, not PQ at all. TRY, not pure at all. A few are GLW, but the rest are mutts. BUT, you gotta love that you got an EE to lay you a blue green egg. Makes for a colorful basket. I personally love mutts. BUT if I ordered GLW and only a few out of them were, then I think I would be pretty ticked off.

I do think the Colored eggs are cool.... I just was shocked

to find I had mutts in my "pure" GLW flock.

***UPDATE***

Brought the situation to Meyers attention... They said they had a couple complaints of the same thing and refunded us for the all of the "defective"

chickens. We have since separated out the EE/GLW mixes into a "new" flock with our beautiful Black Sexlink mutt Roo who "Blackie" who was about to go to the cone. He is a very good Roo and his girls love him. They now hang in the Rabbit area. Blackie was raised from the egg of one of our "Original" hens. All is good on Fiasco Farm now.....

Correct! While really nice birds, they are not GLWs they are cross breeds. I'd be pretty upset if I got those for pure bred GLWs.

I've got a GLW and two SLWs, the SLWs are pure, my GLW has a single comb but looks "classic" GLW in every other way. I didn't buy them for show or breeding so I dont care about the single comb, but they should have bright yellow legs if they are GLWs or SLWs, not green, blue or slate.

Ooops! didnt see that I already posted to this a while back... :)
