Day 23 candling pics, input needed

Yes thats true, maybe if it was saved it would have died later anyway (or been an extra roo :) ). I am at peace, let the nature do its thing indeed!

Day 23 candling pics, input needed

I think there second one just recently died because the veining was still red and the membrane was very freshly looking. The yolk was almost completely absorbed. If I had opened sooner maybe I would have saved it.

Day 23 candling pics, input needed

I opened the egg where I've seen feathers and enlarged air spot. The egg tooth was away from the cell and I think it died because it could not break into the air cell. There was a bit yellow liquid from not fully absorbed yolk (quite small amount). Rip...

Day 23 candling pics, input needed

Interesting info, thanks for sharing. I didn't know that. I'm sceptical that something will come out and holding back to make a hole because last time I had a chick that shrink wrapped because of it, although I assisted and moistured it (the membrane was still too veiny to be pierced). I do...

Not yet, I'm thinking to make a hole but as I mentioned I think one is supposed to hatch a day or so later so I was hopeful 🙈

Day 23 candling pics, input needed

Hi everyone, can you please help me? All others hatched day 21-22 with the hen and she abandoned the nest leaving 6 eggs behind. I candled and kept two. I saw veining in one what I thought was probably an egg that I gave one day later because she refused some eggs after day one. Now it's day 23...

Day 23 chicken eggs, I need guidance (picture)

Can I follow up on this post as I have the same issue. All others hatched day 21-22 with the hen and she abandoned the nest leaving 6 eggs behind. I candled and kept two. I saw veining in one what I thought was probably an egg that I gave one day later because she refused some eggs after day...

Help to identify what's wrong with this chick please

The chick stands more on one leg than the other and it started as being a bit lethargic and poorly walking with wings spread out to keep the balance. It kept falling more on the bum and sitting and it has been so since day 1. Sometimes it sits more sometimes it stands more. It's been now 4 days...

Help to identify what's wrong with this chick please

Thank you! I did something similar at the end, hope it helps for him/her 🙏🏻 My only concern is that the chick is sitting most of the day under heat with the eyes closed, alert only if I approach or others bother him/her. Drinks and eats but probably way too little as I begin to see difference...

Help to identify what's wrong with this chick please

Thanks for your feedback. The chick is only put there for the video as in the brooder it is difficult to film. Are you referring to splayed leg by saying dislocated tendons?

Help to identify what's wrong with this chick please

Can someone help please to identify what's wrong with this baby chick? Seems to be doing fine except does not walk well, loses balance and sits a lot on the bum. Eats ands drinks but is so from birth, now on day 3 not any better but also not worse. Sits a lot under heat and less active than...

Well I did my best... (Ascites) here's the story!

A little story with the hopes to learn smth I don't know yet from everyone who reads it. I found one of my chickens in a penguin stance and immediately suspected egg bound situation. After 3 bath salts and aaaa loooot of reading I checked for egg and there was none. You can see how miserable...

No I haven't identifiers her, it's very difficult as they all lay at different times and the last egg comes unannounced 🤔

    Multiple Lash eggs

Dear all, Is there a way to treat lash egg without knowing which chicken has it? If yes, how?! I have already had a number of lash eggs in the past few months (first one found 30 Jan) and this chicken also lays eggs (because sometimes I get an egg with some lash stuff attached). I have 6...

Chick integration to outside coop and the flock

At 5 and a half weeks old I removed the mama heating system since the lows at night were within acceptable temperatures. From 6 weeks I began to help them roost for the night. I continued feeding the flock together 1 to 2 times a day even since the attack to make sure they see and interact with...
