How old are they? How long have you had them? Any new chickens added lately?
You can start them all on Corid. It needs to be their only water source for the week they’re being treated. Dose is 1.5 tsps powder per gallon of water made fresh daily. If they have a coccidiosis problem this should...
Thank you so much for the reply. I have added the Corid to their water according to the instructions. What would you recommend for the direct dose? She is still lethargic but does not seem any worse, still eating and drinking. Hoping this will help her feel better soon.
My baby ducks play in their water all the time--how do I make sure they're actually getting the Corid? We had an outbreak of coccidiosis in our chickens and while the chicken and ducks are living separately, the baby ducks are living outside in a run (with brooderplate to keep warm, etc) so I'm...
Thanks for the double-check. It looks like I'm using the correct dose. This is the current heartbreaker. Still alive this morning, barely. If the brooder plate seems low, this one and the last used it as a roost sometimes and kept falling off in their stupors. I couldn't stand to watch so I...
All we have here are silkies, and I can tell you they will die from coccidiosis, but usually don't die from vitamin deficiencies. You need to dose them the same. You can compensate later for the vitamin deficiencies.
Get some Poultry Cell and put that in their water after the 5 or 7 days of...
I am so sorry!
I'm suspicious of them sending you home with medicine for chicks if they were healthy to start. They don't just "get" coccidiosis because they're in a new place, that's just a possibility for why they got it, or they already had it.
Since you don't know what was in that, yes...
...with something like a bacterial illness, you'd need an antibiotic. That would be the pits to start off a new flock this way.

The one in orange is about a week old, normally I don’t try to keep such varied ages together but i had a broody hen which abandoned her chicks and luckily my salmon faverolle took them in. She’s a good mom and takes good care of all of them even tho they're younger than her original.
All the...
I've been using half a teaspoon of liquid Corid in a quart waterer. There is one other bird in there (I got them with 2 standard sized birds and recently split them up), but I didn't separate them because I felt like it would stress them both out being alone. They are very attached and do...
No, Corid won't hurt them if you decide to go ahead and treat them.

Get some Corid asap and get them started on it. Coccidiosis is very common, the medication is very safe and wouldn't hurt them even if it was something else, but coccidiosis can kill them.
Dosing is 1.5 tsp of the powder or 2 tsp of the liquid per gallon of drinking water, make fresh daily...
You bought the liquid Corid, correct?
If so then use 2 teaspoons per gallon of water.
Make a new batch every day.
Treating Coccidiosis with Corid, Amprol, AmproMed - The Correct Amprolium Dose
I'll keep it and mix it with the feed for the older birds, it was getting low anyways. The older birds free range mostly and only eat from the feeder if they get locked in for one reason or another.
I'll be looking for another source for the medicated chick feed with the amprolium in it.
Plan...
How much Corid are you using in the water. I would use 2 tsp per gallon for 5-7 days, and give the drench 0.1 ml of undiluted orally 1-2 times a days for any who are really sick. Then you can also treat with 1/4 of the water dose for an additional 5 days if needed. What are the ages? Have you...
I've used a gallon over two days and still had it be effective. I have absolutely no information on keeping it beyond that, but haven't wanted to take the chance. The real keys are making sure they have no other water sources until the treatment is over, finishing the full five-day treatment and...
