I can't believe how big my girls are getting... I'll have to post pics later. They just turned 4 weeks, got most of their feathers in... They're really friendly too, I open the brooder door and a couple of them will fly right out and land on my shoulder or arm... :)
Sometimes I wish I lived in a warmer climate, but I sure don't envy you warmer climate folks when it comes to your snakes. If I started finding snakes in my garage I am pretty sure I would have to burn the house down :D
Brought the babies home today... They all drank some water and pecked at the food and then 3 of them went under the MHP and snuggled up. The Dominique (the smallest one) was feeling curious I guess, she wandered around the brooder peeping loudly for awhile, checking things out then eventually...
My run is very secure so I do plan to leave the pop door open most of the time. I didn't want to make a permanent lower vent because I was worried it would get drafty in winter (I'm in Colorado)
This is the coop I built. It's 4x4' and intended to house 4 he's (there is a 60 sq ft run attached also.)
The triangular vent you can kinda see on this pic is on both sides and on the front side you can see that flap which is another vent you can open. I was thinking of leaving that one open...
Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm glad we have a good resource locally. I haven't dealt with Danielle much but she was very helpful answering the few questions I had. It's not really convenient to Loveland but I work in Fort Collins so I'm up that way all the time.
