So far the feathered feet in the snow has not been a problem. Even the mud in the spring has not caused mud balls on the feathers. Either that or my gals spend extra time cleaning lol.

Don't forget to look at the endangered lists on The Livestock Conservation site! I went through and made some very deliberate choices to increase the survivability of some of our heritage breeds. I also chose based on high degree of foraging to reduce feed bills.@21hens-incharge
I'll have to wait on more birds as my current coop is nearing its capacity but I'm defiantly going to look into the breed. I've got a list going of the new breeds I want to add in the future. How do the feathered feet do in the snow?
