Using DE AND lime AND sweet PDZ at the same time with pine shavings bedding in coop?

Actually, Diatomaceous Earth (DE) is a powder that is comprised of microscopic skeletons that have jagged edges. While it does NOT keep mites and lice off of your animals, it DOES kill them by the microscopic jagged skeletons cutting open the pests abdomens. I purchase the Human Grade kind, it...

    Appleyard vs. Welsh Harlequin ducks

Hi, I was on the hedge too, and so I bought both 😂 Now, I'm LOVING the Welsh Harlequins more, and they have slight more beautiful coloring, and the black bill just tops them off. If I had to sum them up, the SA look like a cross between a Saxony and a WH. Of course, I didn't separate them over...

Official BYC Poll: Where Do You Buy Your Feed From & Why?

I have purchased from Blue Seal and Tractor Supply. But, I now feed organic, non-GMO feed that a local feed mill concocts for my specific needs- layers, growers, chicks, ducks, geese, goats, and horse. I can buy this organic, non-GMO feed CHEAPER than any feed store regular feed! As for my dogs...

ISO American Bresse, Hedemora, and Chamois Spitzhauben chicks

So, I need some opinions on a Breeder, or Hatchery, that I should buy some chicks from, without going completely bankrupt, but yet having some proper specimens to start off with. I have a regular flock like many here do, my beautiful varied backyard flock of different breeds and color...

HELP! 8 week old Dewlap Toulouse gosling was found laying on it's back. What could be wrong with it?

Okay, so here are pics of my babies 😊 The smaller one was the sick one, Forrest, who was laying on her back. She has some curled toes since they hatched her, and she does water therapy everyday. She only has access to the shallow, weirdly used dog crate bottom, so she is able to groom in...

HELP! 8 week old Dewlap Toulouse gosling was found laying on it's back. What could be wrong with it?

Thank you both so much! Since removal of the scratch grains, she is almost 100% again!!! :) She was hatched out with both feet deformed- her toes were curled up. And, with a lot of water therapy, she has mostly normal feet, with the exception of 1 to being slightly curled still. I keep calling...

HELP! Gosling keeps being wobbly, weak and laying down a lot, sometimes on back.

She had a foot deformity at hatching, I was told by her breeder. Then, she was doing fine. I picked her up, and she was doing okay until about two weeks after arrival. Thought maybe she had niacin deficiency, as TS employee could only find a multi flock feed. I went back to same TS, and I and...

HELP! 8 week old Dewlap Toulouse gosling was found laying on it's back. What could be wrong with it?

I picked her up, and she's wobbly and a little weak. She had a bout of laying down and falling down about a week and a half ago. I went out and got Purina Duck feed, as it had the Niacin, and I was unsure about the All Flock they gave me at Tractor Supply, when I asked for the duck feed the 1st...

Coop in a harbor freight greenhouse?

...and goats! He has a very good temperament and loves my family. He's at the age where strangers are going to have to be escorted in my property. ***Also, I know that some people can't have a dog, so HEAVY reinforcement is necessary for any area that poultry are kept in! You can use metal/over...
