I have two NR360’s that I just LOVE! I bought a farm innovator to use solely for lockdown/hatching. It’s been running for about 3 days now, with no eggs in it yet, and I absolutely refuse to transfer my eggs over. I have two backup thermometers/hygrometers in there. They read spot on with the...
Hey guys! I’ve been having a hard time figuring out a name for my small chicken business. I sell eating eggs along with raising and sell Buckeye chicks and hatching eggs. Adding a breeding flock of 55 flowery hens this week along with celadon coturnix quail. I just can’t come up with anything...
As stated above, I did find lice and mites. Treated once with ivermectin and then again with dust. Her slurry Ive been giving her has b complex added. She hasn’t laid yet. I’d be interested in the blood test if you could give me more info
Berta is a 33 week old light Brahma. About 2 or so months ago, I noticed her laying around while I was cleaning the coop. Walked up to her and she just nonchalantly walked away- normally she takes off (not too people friendly). She would walked a bit, and then lay down. Oh, and she wasn’t...
I was given the advice of putting in the matting you would put into your kitchen cupboards. Eggs turn so much easier and quieter. They just don’t slide. And, when lockdown rolls around, the chicks have some grip.
I have a nurture 360 and the humidity started off high but then stabilized. Sounds like your built in hygrometer is messed up. But also, looking at your pictures, the pointed ends of the eggs should be facing inwards towards the center ☺️
So, she hasn’t gurgled in a few days. I’m it doesn’t happen again this week, you think it’s an okay to introduce them to the flock? It’ll be a month that I have had these three now.
I have the chicken guard extreme with locking tabs. I love the unit but did have one problem- it stopped closing at night. But the tech people were quick to help- guided over the phone through the settings- and haven’t had an issue since!!
UPDATE: took her down to the clinic today. Vet listened to her- chest is completely clear. Numbed and looked down her throat, completely clear. We did the tracheal swabs and I sent them out today to Zoologix for a respiratory PCR panel. Should know something end of this end-beginning of next...
I have talked to them in the past about a different chicken. Depending on price, I may go with the first link you sent. They only need a tracheal swab where as ODA needs blood- and a good bit at that.
