    Silver laced to silver barred

So I'm growing out some chicks and already considering some breeding experiments. Has anyone ever crossed a silver laced rooster(I'm thinking Wyandotte) to a silver based barred hen(Delaware)? Or something similar. What did the chicks look like? Any adults?

    Fowl registration in Texas

Yes I did. I don't know if you still need my advice but here ya go.. They came out and inspected the flock to make sure that I had filed under the correct number of chickens. If you said you had less than a hundred head they don't want to find out you actually got 500+ stashed in your backyard...

Thought she was a true blue

I thought so. She looks dirty but she is an off white with a few redder feathers under her throat.

Thought she was a true blue

When they were still fluffy yellow chicks I thought they were leghorns. I thought McMurray's listed all their breeds and hybrids but maybe I got some chicks from a breeding experiment? By the way they are going to have niederrhieners this year

Thought she was a true blue

My ladies are starting to lay. I went out this morning and gathered all the eggs. While I was feeding them afterwards I seen one of the girls that I was hoping was a whiting true blue go get on the nest. She had been acting very interested in the nests for a couple of days and since she is the...

    Fowl registration in Texas

I've been researching what I need to do to sell live birds at public places like flea markets. But I would love to hear about the process from people who have actually done it. How smooth was the process for you? Did you have to get your flock tested before sending the application in or was...

    12week old unknown breed

Bought an assortment of chicks a few months ago from MurryMcMurray and I'm not sure what these are. I was kinda thinking that they were whiting true blues but aren't they supposed to have pea combs. The rooster also looks similar to an Amber link?

Thank you for the welcome! I did get some advice but we couldn't decide exactly what had happened. It did pass away but all the other chicks seem to be doing amazing. I started with 53 chicks lost one after a sudden death and then the one with swelling that I asked for help with, so I still have...

Chick with swollen areas. Need help.

These are our only chickens at this time. I now have a chick who shows a vitamin b12 deficiency, with toes curling under. I had started adding vitamins to the water the other day though (it has b12 in it). Everyone got scrambled eggs with paprika in them dusted with a multi vitamin I usually...

Chick with swollen areas. Need help.

The chick was even more swollen this morning. It was unable to walk and clearly in pain, would not open it's eyes, eat or drink. even if it somehow recovered at this point it would not be "right" with the way the swelling has twisted its joints. I have put the chick down to end it's agony. I did...
