Does "hatchery quality" denote higher or lower standards? But that's a possibility too, though I hadn't planned on having huge chickens, I suppose I have the space. The legs on one of them are quite thick, but they don't seem to be much taller than the rest of their fellow 14 weekers.could they be hatchery quality white Jersey giants?
Hatchery quality means "Looks like a certain breed, but doesn't fit the SOP. Has a fault or two." Low standards, as hatcheries don't breed for quality. They breed for quantity.
