Mystery Breed

Hey all, wanted to update you with these two mystery gals. They took quite awhile to start laying (to be honest, not sure one of them still isn't). I'm fairly certain the one who is laying is a White Rock. Here's what she looks like today. She's laying a gorgeous brown egg with a few dark speckles.

Here's the other gal, hard to tell by this pic but she looks much different, she's larger and seems to have a pea comb. Her face is fluffier. Haven't caught her laying yet so she might not be ready yet (approx 30weeks).

Thanks all for your guesses!

They are gorgeous!!!
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

The one that isn't sporting a single comb might be a White Chantecler. Maybe. I'd have to check on what color leg they are supposed to have. The hen you suspect is a White Rock, are her legs willow (green)? I'd expect hatchery White Rocks to still have yellow legs, although she is built a bit like one. So many of the hatcheries are making hybrids for one reason or another and naming them silly things like Snow Queens or something equally dumb. lol They may not be pure breeds at all.

LMAO @ snow queens!! They both have greenish legs. They were Rural King chicks and I've long since abandoned the idea of pure bred, but it's been fun trying to figure out what they are. All I really wanted from them was eggs and chicken love, they seem to be providing both. 😁

The come up with some ridiculous names for these hybrids...lol

With greenish-willow legs I'm not sure what they'd be. You think they are both laying brown eggs?

Oh I agree, I have a "Sapphire Splash" while she's one of THE.BEST chickens, her breed name is giggle worthy.

And yes I believe they're both laying brown (if the combless one is even laying right now). We haven't had ANY white eggs. We have been getting two blue eggs but we have two Easter eggers. I've attached a shot of our rainbow. The following egg (dk brown with speckles), we can't figure out who it's coming from..we think it's either a cuckoo maran (though their eggs seem to be solid brown) or one of these mystery gals. Hence the White Rock idea, their eggs seem to be speckled sometimes.
