I got really excited about this when I googled them, but then I looked at the chick pictures. These gals both had grey heads when they were chickies.Possibly a austra white?

Do you mean it was a yellow chick with a completely grey head or just grey bleeding out of the yellow? I know California whites and Austra whites can have grey bleeding out because of the random dark speckling that may appear as adults.I got really excited about this when I

This is a strong possibility! The chicks looked very similar to White Orp chicks.White Orps have quite a bit of grey as chicks.![]()
They do look like it! Would explain the variation in leg color, as hatcheries make no effort to breed to the SOP.Here are some chick pics..lol. I know it's hard to see but they had very little yellow and were more buff/grey. I can see why they might have been confused with BLRW because they did resemble that breed of chicks. I concur..looking very orp like after seeing the baby pics!This is a strong possibility! The chicks looked very similar to White Orp chicks.
Underfeet? Like, the soles? Here's some..of all angles.Skin is yellow. Those aren't Orps.
