These two hatched about 1.5 weeks ago. I know that’s a little early, but I found a “wing sexing” article. I’m not sure how true it is, but I thought I’d give it a shot. I’m pretty sure they’re both leghorn eggs fertilized by an americauna roo. What are your thoughts?
I’m nearing the end of my first hatch. I started with 23 eggs and am down to 5-6. I’ve had four hatch. One died a day later, and one just vanished yesterday, after about 4-5 days. From candling, it looks like the majority of the eggs should have hatched. But I keep going in to find eggs half...
This just happened to me! I can’t find anything on internet about it anywhere! Pics from hatch, about 3-4 days, and 6-7 days. Down starting to grow in but still far less than other chick. Pretty sure both are leghorn eggs fertilized by Americauna rooster.
Well I tried it yesterday making sure that there were no cracks before I started. Four had some degree of floating and four sank. But when candling, they all look like full eggs near hatching. I was too afraid to pip into them and lose the egg. I’ve seen posts where people have been up to 30...

Here is my coop and run. As you can see, they’ve eaten all the grass out that we built it on. The top of the coop is covered, as are the boxes. But we live in Florida and it does get very damp in coop floor when it rains, especially when it’s windy. I don’t have poop boards because this is the...
This is my first hatch. This is my fourth chick to hatch. It’s been two days now so it’s pretty dry but it looks like this definitely not like my other three what is going on here
This is the box they’re in. They can’t get out. I have put food and water in with them. I’m worried about moving them to the ground because I have 17 other hens and a rooster running around and my coop and run is very large for them to start away from momma. I didn’t see any yolk on them when...
I’ve got two broodies and they both have a chick or two with some more eggs underneath. The hatched chicks are between 1-2 days old. Should I move them from under momma and out of the nest so they can find the crumble and water or is momma going to make sure they’re ok while she sits in the...
I’m pretty sure on of our hatched died within the last two hours. It’s not moving and momma doesn’t want me messing under her. Should I be moving the chicks from under her and onto the crumble???
Ok so I’ve got 2 Broodies and they’ve been waiting patiently. I had 8 eggs on day 1 and didn’t realize I should close off my box until about 2 days later so we ended up with 23 eggs total. Apparently we had some “bad” eggs in there and mommas got rid of them. One in particular so I moved some of...
