I wanted to let you all know the update. I ended up lockInv the dog in a shed building with food and water, it was the only way to keep her put up. A week after the attacks I went to visit my hubby in Illinois, he was there for work for several weeks. I picked some adult ducks so my boys would...
I am working on that. I called the local shelter to ask them, and they thought she'd be adopted or that they would find her a rescue. She is a pure German Shepard and very loyal, but she can't be here. It is so hard because I do love her and she has been good to us, but we just can't have that.
I tried but I wimped out, couldn't look in her face and shoot. If my husband had been home (he's a truck driver, so I guess I need to toughen up!) she would have been dead. I am not sure what I am going to do. Thought of calling someone to take care of her.
Thanks you all, I am searching, deeply. I have covered a lot of ground, tomorrow I am going to recheck and check a few places I hadn't yet. I was also finally able to get the injured duck, he has a pretty decent gash, I think I will see if our vet can stitch it up. I put him in clean shavings...
I saw use catch the last one. She had eaten one of the dead birds. And today I just happenned to look out the window as she was catching the live duck. It explains why there was no barking. She wouldn't have barked at herself. She has only been out with them for about 3 weeks. She broke the dog...
It was our dog, I just caught her with a duck in her mouth, no wonder they were not coming out from under the house. Angry does not even begin, she is gone!
Oh My Goodness it was my own dog! I caught her with one of the remaining ducks in her mouth. I don't know what I am going to do. And the hurt duck is hiding in a place I can't even reach to try to help it.
I haven't heard any ducks at all, or I would think they had run. If it wasn't for the other two that I found dead I would wonder. But also because of the two dead I do wonder if they are hiding, but I have combed over all nearby hiding places. Today I'm going further out, but I haven't heard...
We've had fox and opossums, both leave a mess, oh and a neighbor dog. What can carry off a duck and leave absolutely not one feather behind? I have searched out to about a 300 foot radius, and not a feather (more tomorrow, truck drivers wife and the kids were done with me being out 'gone' and...
The other morning (early, right before the sun comes up), something came and took 9 of my ducks, leaving three, They are still so scared they won't come out from under the chicken house (they usually slept there, or in the chicken house, I let them out when I let the dog out, came back in and...

Yay! More Ancona's! Please let us know when you do. I like the surprise too of wondering what color . I like variety, which is one of the reasons I love these ducks.

Hey
You got your Anconas from me. The ones with the penciling pattern were just a weird color that popped up. I'm going to set some more eggs this month and try to hatch some more ducklings. If I hatch any chocolates I will let you know. I may just pull out my chocolate girls and my...
We got our first Anconas around Thanksgiving, LOVE them! We have one black/white and the other two are brown, but the pattern on the brown part is like a mallard duck. We want to get more. I really, really want some chocolates! Anyone know who would have ducklings they are willing to ship...
I am so sorry , I had this happen with my chickens. Fox came and took one during the day and then a week later came back with her kits, it is an awful feeling when you find that all are gone. So sorry you are having to deal with this loss.

I only have 2 ducks, but they are both laying and I get around a dozen a week. How many was she wanting?
I will ask her, I meant to before to answer just that one, but I forgot, I'll send an email right now.
