I free range my hens, we live right next to the forest and I have seen hawks take away little house sparrows right in my neighbor's lawn. If you can't at least try to do some supervised free range even though it might not make a difference.
Put in some Mixed Breed chickens and one Bourbon Turkey yesterday. The chickens will be a hybrid because we incubate eggs for a friend's assortment of breeds for layers
I just read an article that peas have the niacin ducks need. I have no experience in ducks whatsoever. I love this blog and I find the info useful for my chickens. Hope this helps!

Barred Rock, My profile picture is my dominique. If you look at her comb, it is a "Rose comb" while your lovely girl has a "Single comb", I think she is a Barred Rock. She is a very beautiful pullet!
