In the last month I have lost 5, maybe 6 chickens. Lost 3 in one day. Don't see anything out of the ordinary. All eating and drinking. Do have rats in the coop. Could they be harming my birds?
Why an I having such a hard time expanding my flock?. I currently have 3 males and 2 females. I have incubated 3x in the last month and half in set about 14 each time. 2-3 hatch and die within the week. I dry incubate. What an I doing wrong?
I have havo-bator. I go into lockdown tomorrow. I cover the wire grate with rubber matting. This cut down my humidity. How can I increase it with out having to constantly check on it? I have used sponges in the past. Pls help I want a good hatch.
I know this question is asked a lot. But I'm going to ask it again. I have a homemade Styrofoam incubator. How can I increase and maintain humidity during lockdown?
I think my newborn chick has a spraddle leg. It is out to the side slightly. It hatched yesterday after breaking internal membrane 2½ days prior. It is not using the leg. Doesn't look deformed. Can I wrap it anyway? My phone won't let me upload pictures.
I moved my bantams in to my big coop on Friday. Went out yesterday and found one in the corner. I figure she is on the bottom of pecking order. I brought her in the house. Age can't/won't hold get head up. I don't want to lose her. Advice pls. I have give her electrolyte water with some starter...
I have a question regarding temp. My incubator is having trouble holding the right temp. Should I keep it a little on the cold side? I have a new thermostat coming any day now to switch it out.
Incubator is about 2 yrs old. It is a havibator. It is in my closet. I have thermometers in my bator. Two are digit and read the same the other is a needle kind.
Every time I go into lockdown and I remove my turner, my temp drops. Even after I adjust the thermostat as much as possible I can't get it above 96°. Does anyone know if putting a heating pad under the bator itself would help our inside under eggs.
