4-H provides exemption for homeowner's agreement restrictions?

Good points, all. Live and learn, I suppose. And, on that note, my presence is no longer relevant on this forum, I guess. My own stupid fault.

4-H provides exemption for homeowner's agreement restrictions?

Quote: No, no, this is exactly how I feel about it. The irony was NOT lost on me that the neighbor picked Memorial Day to march in and tell us that we had no "rights" to keep animals on OUR property. We've lost our freedoms, slowly but surely. I personally believe that HOA's and community...

4-H provides exemption for homeowner's agreement restrictions?

It's the community covenant (I have NO idea how we missed that intially:/). We do have a hard copy now. ::sigh::

4-H provides exemption for homeowner's agreement restrictions?

...empty lot owned by the grouchy people. We live in the county, and chickens are really not a rare thing here. A friend of mine suggested that if our daughter was a member of the local 4-H, we might be able to be exempted from that code. Has anyone had any experience with this? **hopes and...

I love my RIRs. Seriously, ARE there sweeter birds?

...of the sweetest birds in the world. The breeds we have to date are: three various wyandottes (1 banty), three cuckoo marans, one barred rock (&$@*&$ fox got the other ) , five buff orps, one auracana (I know, EE ), one black sex link, five RIRs, and a passel of cornish hens... And my...

Maybe it means fresh milk that may have been contaminated by a dirty container or something? Beats me. Did you rinse it with water?

What's Your Chickens names and Why are they named that?

Not all of ours are named yet, but a few have earned names... Olive- my olive legged mutt chicken who's a sweetheart Jezebel- my evil Cuckoo Marans, who ironically narrowly escaped getting eaten by a fox Magdeline- my barred rock whom sometimes gets too big for her britches, and whom I...

Letting my broody raise 20 meaties. Now I have a rooster raising 50 CX chicks~new batch!

We fluked into a little flock of abandoned meaties in the TSC parking lot a couple of weeks ago, and they're quite feathered and ready for outside.... I can't bear the idea of them never going out, so I'm reading this thread with great interest! I think we're going to build a pen for them...

    Is this a breed thing?

I should take a picture of before and now...I'll do that here...just a sec..

    Is this a breed thing?

The chicks we "rescued" from the box in the TSC parking lot have literally doubled, no, tripled their size in a week. They're HUGE, and they're starting to not be able to support their own weight. This is pitiful. Could they be a fast-grow breed? What's the most humane thing to do for them...

    Chicks wasting feed?

I'm noticing that time seems to be the only cure! Another one whose little guys like to scratch out their 1" lip round feeder. I've noticed that giving them a bit of sand to scratch around in has discouraged it a bit, though.

Who else is on WEIGHT WATCHERS

I just started a week and a half ago...I'm on my own here, as spouse is naturally thin. I'm thrilled to discover that I can have a filling meal for only a few points, and devastated to see how many points dark chocolate packs, lol. I'm also excited that the plan takes breastfeeding into...

She roasted the chicks! IM SO ANGRY

While I'm usually the first to say that different kids have different maturity levels (my 5yo would have known better, for instance...even my 3yo), your little sister sounds a little indulged, honestly, for a 9yo. In my house, she'd be earning money without a rest until she'd fully paid you...

Now I understand "more nerve than a fox in a henhouse"

Thank you. That's good to hear. :sigh: We were reading this morning about how late April and May are peak food gathering times for foxes because their early spring kits start eating meat and needing to be fed. Live and learn, I guess. All this stuff that my great grandmother could have told me...

Now I understand "more nerve than a fox in a henhouse"

:somad:somad:hit fox that struck the other night walked out into the yard and snatched my favorite hen in front of us! My spouse is outside with a gun now...the blasted thing came back and stared at him before he could get his case unlocked. We've kept them safe for weeks outside from...
