    We fluked into a little flock of abandoned meaties in the TSC parking lot a couple of weeks ago, and they're quite feathered and ready for outside.... I can't bear the idea of them never going out, so I'm reading this thread with great interest! I think we're going to build a pen for them...

    The chicks we "rescued" from the box in the TSC parking lot have literally doubled, no, tripled their size in a week. They're HUGE, and they're starting to not be able to support their own weight. This is pitiful. Could they be a fast-grow breed? What's the most humane thing to do for them...

    I'm noticing that time seems to be the only cure! Another one whose little guys like to scratch out their 1" lip round feeder. I've noticed that giving them a bit of sand to scratch around in has discouraged it a bit, though.
