Heat lamps are so dangerous...I have a flat panel heater that kicks on at 32 degrees and shuts off at 45 degree. Very safe, love it! I got it from shopthecoop.com
Merry Christmas and Happy New year to everyone! Thank you for all of your support and wisdom though the year. It's so nice to have a face to match to the "Chickendads" please keep the entertainment coming....Gotta Love Barbara!!!
I feel your pain, I am in the same situation. However, I chose to keep my roo (Mr. Bubbles) and my darling husband built him his own quaters in the coop and run. Sometimes you just never know!
Please check out shopthecoop.com they sell flat panel heaters that work great and you don't have to keep checking the temp. I have one in my coop and love it!
I know how hard it is...my one and only roo, "Mr. Bubbles" has his own condo next to the hens and my girls (Kids) are not allowed in there. He has always been friendly but I am not taking that chance...I love them all and just want to do the justice for everyone involved.

LIQUID BANDAID!! It works great and keeps it from getting infected....take the boy out of the coop and separate him till he heals so you don't have to worry. They see blood and all bets are off!
I think Thor is BEAUTIFUL! He looks like my Roo, but my Roo doesn't have yellow skin...not quite sure what he is (other than sweet) I need to post a picture. I also wanted to thank you for the valuable info on your BYC Page..I am always looking for info on roos and how to handle them. Please...
