    LindyLou.........Wish I caould help...but I have no idea why your gals suddenly dislike their pine bedding.???? I use it in our pen and coop too and the only time the hens toss it out is when they are 'making thier nest' of the day.

    I have two EasterEggers....a newbie and a one-year old. The older ee is a blast...friendly, talkative and curious....and she lays about 6 eggs a week! Our newbie hasn't started to lay yet...only 12 weeks old! I'd like to raise moreee's for sure!

    I suppose a cat would kill and steal small chicks......my cats learning very early on to leave the chicks alone.....they would get a good pecking!! (lol!) I don't believe a cat would go to a full grown chicken though.......~Beulah

    Yes, this is normal behavior for your chickies 1st few evenings. Mine did this too, but they settled down after just a few evenings. I believe this happens to the chickens when they have been used to having the heat lamp on 24/7 in their brooder. They just don't even really see darkness. Hope...

    My understanding of GMO's is that there is less chemicals, pesticides, etc. sprayed over the plants because the chemicals, pesticides, etc are already inside the seed or kernel......~Beulah
