No eggs from ee question....

Hi! I have an ee who hatched out on April1, 2014. She laid several eggs in September and October and less in November and none in December or january....... I believe she is moulting, which I thought they didn't molt until 20 months old, or so. I've never had a pullet go through a moult and stop laying at this young age. (7-8 months old).........
Anyone have any ideas or advice for me? Thanks!

I think it's just her thing.
I have a breed that almost always molts their first autumn though most do so their second autumn.
While pullets often lay right through their first winter, slowdown when days shorten isn't that unusual.

I have several pullets the same age molting right now. Depending on the time of year they hatched, pullets can definitely go through a molt their first year.
