Okay so I have had chickens since last fall and now that it is spring and full of wet, cold and muddy places (thank you Michigan:rolleyes:), mites have entered my premise. :mad: I've been using a essential oil mixture of Melaluca and Peppermint that I spray on their vent area and under feathers...
hey y'all! Question for you..... How (if you've had them) have your ducks and chickens gotten along in the past/present?
We are having a debate on adding on to the flock and my sister wants a couple ducks.
Also, if we put day old chicks and ducklings in the same brooder, how would that fair?
I know! It is after-affect weather from the hurricane people are saying...they have a big tree over their run and have ice in their waters. I would put a fan out in their coop but their are no outlets near.
ok sooo michigan has gotten a heat wave this past week (being 50's and 60's) and then BAM! heat! and I dont know if this is just my chicken not likeing heat but my GLW is breathing through her mouth and doing sort of a panting thing and going- "ahhhhhh...ahhhhh...". Is she just trying to cool...
