Egg bound or brooding? Help appreciated

Well we don't have a rooster so letting her hatch is not an option lol! She isn't even sitting on any eggs in there sense I take eggs out multiple times a day. I know she has not laid in 3 days now though, when I make her come out she eats and drinks and makes this soft clucking sound non stop...

Hi everyone, I have a silkie pullet who has been laying for a few months now, she has always liked sitting on any of the chickens eggs, but would always come out of the coop once I took the eggs out. Last night when I went to lock the chickens up for the night I noticed she was in the nesting...

Thanks I can defienetly switch their feed, is there anything I can do in the mean time though? They are not leaving her alone and her back is horrible. I sprayed the blue kote on her yesterday and the other hens STILL chased her and picked at her to the point where she is bleeding. Besides the...

    Picking on frizzle?

Thanks for the reply! We switched a couple weeks ago to purina layena crumbles with 16% protein, the coop is a little bigger then 8X4, then the run is 25x12, plus the addition space under the coop which is probably another 50 square feet. I have not notice any other health issues with the...

Hi everyone! This is my 28 week old silkie Goldie. As you can see, Goldie has HUGE wattles and comb. They grew This large within the last month, but he/she does not crow. Can anyone tell if it looks like a pullet or rooster? The other day Goldie was making the egg sound and scratching around in...

    Is this silkie a roo?

See I have so much to learn still lol! No we are not wanting it to be a roo, so I'm really hoping to figure out if it is indeed a he or a she lol! When I went back to the coop and found the egg, Goldie jumped into the coop and "showed me" the egg was in the corner by going and tapping on it.
